In Hungary the proportion of elderly women increased from 15% to 19% in the period between 1987 and 2007, and reached the average of the EU 15 countries. We are currently in the process of completing the planning phase of our SimBase pilot. We plan to run a new simulation event early April 2012 designed to teach basic surgical skills to novice practitioners. This will allow us to provide evidence which will be used to validate the strength of the SimBase impact assessment model.
